Welcome to Cool Well Press. We publish a variety of genres including fantasy, mystery, science fiction, suspense, historicals, Young Adult, and non-fiction. We are looking for stories that capture our imagination and transport us to another time or place - books that keep us reading no matter what time the alarm is set to go off the next morning because we want to know what happens on the next page.
Cool Well Press is a royalty paying publisher of works for sale in electronic format and trade paperback. All work must be submitted and pass our editorial review process. We will publish first novels if they are of professional quality. Unless invited by an editor, we are not looking at re-releases at this time. Simultaneous submissions are fine; however, please let us know in your cover letter if you are submitting to other publishers.
CWP is not a vanity press and does not charge authors for publication.

Royalties
As per our standard contract, we offer 25% royalties on all single-author e-books and 8% royalties on print books. Some contract terms are open to negotiation and we are happy to work with both agented and unagented authors.
Copyrights
Our contract asks for electronic and print rights for a period of three years. We may, at a future time, request audio rights, but this would be negotiated separately. The author retains all rights not specifically stated by the contract.
Formatting
All submissions must be prepared according to the following guidelines:
- Word (.doc or .docx) or Rich Text Format (.rtf) files only.
- 1.5 line spacing.
- 1 inch margins.
- Times New Roman or Courier New 12 point font.
- Title and Author's Name in upper left corner.
- Page numbers in upper right corner.
- Title page includes:
- Title.
- Genre.
- Word count.
- All Contact Information.
Submission
Please submit via e-mail to submissions@coolwellpress.com. Subject line should include the following information: Submission: Title of Work.
The e-mail should include two attachments - Synopsis (2 to 4 pages) and the completed manuscript. In the case of an established author, the first three chapters will suffice if the manuscript is not yet complete. Submissions without both attachments will not be considered. Please do not send a query letter, send the two attachments. Attachments should be in either Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or Rich Text Format (.rtf). Also, please let us know what prompted you to submit to Cool Well Press. Was there an advertisement on a web page or have you read one of our books?
The cover letter should also include the genre of your work, the word count, your complete contact information (legal name and pen name, if any, and physical address and phone number). We do not accept printed manuscripts.
All submissions should be error-free. Please be sure to proof your entire submission - the synopsis, manuscript, and cover e-mail before sending it. Proofing includes visual appearance in regards to fonts, spacing, type size, etc. in addition to punctuation and grammar.
Accepted books will be subject to editing and possible rewriting to match the book to the line in which it will appear. The author will be required to work with an editor and make changes before final acceptance and release based on an agreed upon schedule.
